Perfect 10 Competition Criteria

  • You can choose to dance on 1 or on 2. However you must start on  the correct timing (count) and maintain the timing and rhythm of the  music, including any syncopation used, throughout the performance.  Competitors' scores will reflect a deduction in the Timing Category if  timing is not consistently maintained.. However if dancers temporarily  break their timing to accent musicality, they will not be penalized once  they seamlessly return to the correct original timing.


  • No lifts (lifts being with both feet off the ground,  assisted by your partner) are permitted in the dance.


  • Competitors must be dancing for no more than 3 years prior.


  • No predefined choreography is required.  Competitors will dance to random songs chosen by the Dj, about 1:30 in length.


  • Competitors can dance with any instructor, who will not be judged.  Instructors may dance with multiple competitors.


  • Instructors who dance with competitors gain entry on Saturday night at a discounted price of $100


  • This is a heated format where all competitors share the stage at the same time. Couples may be separated into sectioned heats if need be.


  • This is a couples partnerwork category.


  • Competitors may enter more than one category.


  • Registration fee per person per category is $100

  • This is a "SOLO", any gender category with one person competing at a time.


  • First Round:
    • Competitors will perform a prepared choreographed routine of your choice of music with duration between 60 to 90 seconds


  • Final Round:
    • A one on one battle between the finalists to 2 songs selected at random by the the finalists.
    • Each finalist will dance for 40 seconds to each song.
    • All competitors will be given a list of 10 possible songs that can possibly be chosen at the finals.


  • Registration fee per person per category is $100

  • No more  than 2 assisted lifts (lifts being with both feet off the ground,  assisted by your partner) are permitted in the choreography.


  • Your choreography can consist of shines and/or partnerwork.


  • Duration (length) of routine/music must be between 2:00 to 2:30 minutes. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a 2 point deduction.


  • This is an any gender, couples routine.


  • Registration fee per person per category is $100


  •  You must dance to the rhythm of the music which can include lyrics, instruments and syncopations. Musicality will be judged in relation to the aforementioned timing.


  •  No more  than 2 assisted lifts (lifts being with both feet off the ground,  assisted by your partner) are permitted in the choreography.


  • In  your choreography, shines are allowed but are not compulsory. However,  shines must not exceed 25% of the performance. A deduction would apply  accordingly.


  • Duration (length) of routine/music must be between  2:00 to 2:30 minutes. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a 2  point deduction.


  • This is a mixed gender, couples partnerwork category.


  • Registration fee per person per category is $100


  • Music must be submitted no later than Saturday 30th August 2025 and must be in mp3 format.


  • Just Dance category competitors must be at the competition venue, no later than 7:30 pm. 


  • All other competitors must be at the competition venue, no later than 8:00 pm.


  • You  will draw for positions at the venue on competition night. Failure to  be present for the draw will incur a deduction in your final score. No  switching of positions is allowed.


  • No props are allowed.


  • Deadline for competition registration is August 23rd 2025.


 1. Technical Merit - Dance technique exhibited. 

Good Posture, Clean Footwork, Balanced spins/turns, aesthetic use of lines, toe point, smooth and complementary lead/follow partner work, use of Latin motion, and body movement.


If you perform jumps, kicks, extensions, movements requiring exceptional balance, flexibility, or strength - these must be successfully executed in order to get credit for any of these things.


2. Choreography - Consideration of the structure of the choreo from intro to finale.


Originality

Creative Interpretation of the music, showing variety, cleverness, artistic & captivating.


3. Musicality

Demonstrate ability to creatively work with music - using patterns, footwork, hits, tricks. 


4. Degree of Difficulty

The level of intricacy & complexity of combinations, footwork and shines, turns/spins, tricks/dips, and body movement exhibited in the choreography, and how well they are executed.


5. Timing - Consistently starting and staying on count and Keeping to the rhythm of, the music.


6. Floor Craft - Use of the whole dance surface, Formations (and transitions to), Change of Direction.


7. Presentation - Flavor/sabor - connection with your partner that elevates the energy (from the time you walk in and present yourselves, the performance, to the walk off stage. You should complement each other.


You should have Stage Presence, exhibited by your facial expressions and body language, intended to, draw the audience in and connect with the judges. Exhibit the vibe of the music. Have appropriate Costuming.


8. Connection

Partners should be synchronous while connecting with each other and the audience/judges.
